"I lead the patient back to health by finding the path their body took to arrive at its current condition."
Tara Palmer, MS
I received my Master's degree in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven with a background in Biochemistry. I have been working in the field of Human Nutrition for over 23+ years. During this time I have witnessed the low-fat craze bust, food pyramid mess and confusion, and have seen more faddy diets, unrealistic supplement claims, and other nutty health information. Through all this I have continued to research and educate myself to provide hundreds of clients with scientifically-based, sound, practical advice about how to address their health challenges, improve their well-being, and maintain a healthy sense of
balance when it comes to diet and the use of supplements.
The core of my approach is to look at and address the foundational issues and root causes that upset body chemistry. As a Nutritional Biochemist, I give attention to the relevant information of blood-sugar handling, (pancreas, liver, and adrenal-gland inter-relationships), digestion, (stomach, pancreas, small and large intestines), and liver/bilary function.
I am looking at function (how the body works) not pathology (disease).
Prior to moving here in 1999, I was in private practice for nine years, consulting with individuals and helping them solve their health challenges. During that time I worked closely with biochemists and nutritional researchers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center evaluating the blood chemistry of hospitalized patients.
During the past 23 years I have worked with more than 2,000 individual patients with a variety of health issues including cancer, arthritis, diabetes, MS, heart disease, immune and hormone disorders, and other difficult conditions.
My clients range in age from infants to seniors. They include busy professionals, stay-at-home parents, weekend warriors, elite athletes, and couch potatoes. I've worked with healthy people who want to stay that way, individuals with chronic diseases who want to improve their outcome, and patients in hospice care managing end of life issues.
The promise I make to all of my clients is to provide the highest quality, scientifically-backed information and services to help them achieve their health and fitness goals.
